Starting his trip, Woodns put aside canvas and oil paints. And, overwhelmingly, to make much cardboard and pencils. The technique debut was using the blood. Pencil ductile, which opened the way to new and exciting experiences as well as experimentation. Pursued that path until the completion of the argument itself. Reaching perfection, denounced by his last works with the use of hematite. This was possible thanks to the constant and assiduous devotion to art, and the inevitable daily exercise.
Among the places of worship and selected favorite acts to play this assiduous task, certainly in the first place we find Piazza San Fedele, lovely place, enclosed within the ancient walls of the city of Como. Located right in the center, a heart full of tradition and historical and architectural beauties. The church dedicated to the homonymous saint, he was the favorite model. Beautiful model, there in the seventh century and available to be portrayed in any season. Boscolo found shelter under the arches in front, an ideal place for those who want to get outside during the winter. So it became a privileged place. In second place in this particular ranking, surely there's lakefront Cernobbio, a small town next to the town, surrounded by mountains and overlooking Lake Como, known worldwide for its famous Villa d'Este. Favorite place during the summer and, by definition, his summer residence painting. Space certainly wider and suitable to emphasize also the landscape of her dowry. A point very dear to him, chosen at the beginning and where he introduced the "Entertainment pictorial". Sometimes, especially in the beginning, using tempera, is colored the face and arms and then to the music of his "Radiola", painting, dancing and miming, trying to attract the attention of the art itself and people .
It was at this time that one of the many places he visited, he happened one of the most bitter episodes in its history as an artist. Being in a place it has never been easy for anyone, mainly in the last century. Of people disrespectful and rude towards the artists there was a lot, as they could touch even famous bands that after episodes more or less sad, promptly deserted postponed or dates fixed in the Bel Paese. Of these vermin, Boscolo, over the years, he had already met a lot. Most of the time treated her with indifference and continued undaunted work, but everything has a limit and when the lack of respect was overwhelming it was respect, going discussion. Some rare times, to defend his art, also came to blows. On that day weird just what happened when two thugs, approached several times at his easel purposely causing him trouble. To the point that all led to a brawl between the three, and he was defeated. The two thugs did not just beat him, but while one held him, the other with contempt broke the fingers of his right hand. It was really a bad experience, because, before painting again, he had to wait for a complete healing. However, that was only an episode, which made him think so, but that took away the excitement of the journey undertaken. After a few months you could already see again in the crowd with his pencil in his hand.
In addition to these two places where experienced, there exists a third, and perhaps the most significant, as much loved. The town square of a small and quiet Swiss town adjacent to Italy. Clearing, only for the numerous visits painting could very well bring his name. The site in question is located in the quiet little town of Vacallo. When away from the noise and crowds nagging could engage with extreme peace and serenity to his art. Incappando from time to time, only the spontaneous and sincere kindness of the citizens. People he loved and in their own way reciprocated appreciating both as a simple man and as an artist. Acune of his works reside right there and you can appreciate just by visiting the site of the municipality, or the adjacent civic center.
But after this digression, let us return to the techniques and colors used by him. Having exhausted the topic blood, he devoted himself again to a pencil: the squid. Color decidedly darker shade, a provider of a new vision of light and shadow. Surely the squid is less bright the blood, but it is far more elegant. The blood gives the painting a sense of freshness and liveliness (as well as a colorful effect surprising that gives immediate emotions, especially on colored paper), cuttlefish, used well on dark paper prepared gives the highlights for the effects of light, creating a 'atmosphere certainly more sober and less fleeting. Let's say that the squid is for discerning palates. Boscolo, therefore, undertaken once the journey more difficult, giving up immediate income that could offer him the now well-established blood. Also experimented with sepia, up to reach its peak, which was reached in the techniques of gouache.
Works really sublime masterpieces, but unfortunately rare. The uniqueness of these paintings is not due to economic reasons, but to another overriding reason. A new and powerful wind knocked at his door opened and he let himself be carried. The wind was so called watercolor.
