ZONENKINDER. Collective - The Tree Project..

"The truth, the first truth, probably, is that we are all connected, watching one another. Even the trees." (Arthur Miller)

"The Tree Project" is an ongoing art project since 2006 inspired by the beauty and the decay of nature. We are constantly in search of new forms of expressions and we love to play with unusual surfaces and locations. In the Tree Project we visualize the atmosphere of the moment, the usually hidden spirit and dreams of the trees and the the living nature which surrounds us. By painting eyes, faces and grimaces on the trees, by ornamenting and dressing them we emphasize our close and unique connection with nature. Thereby reflecting that trees are exceptional and beautiful living individuals. This stands in contrast to the often destructive and indifferent interaction with the environment of mankind. Please note that we take environmental issues serious: for all tree-paintings shown here we use natural and biodegradable colors that will fade away after a while.

SCULPTURES - "Sarastro"

This body of studio work is a logic continuation and combination of our figurative muralpaintings together with the works on trees - on a different scale but with similar materials and themes. For our canvases and scupltures we love to use a multitude of techniques (e.g. oil paint, acrylics, spraypaint, crayon), we are sewing and knitting, use found wood pieces or other Objets trouvés, recycle/upcycle materials like fake fur, precious stones, pearls, glass or ceramic.

WALLS -Indkobscentralen, Christiania, Copenhagen (Denmark)

We are inspired by surreal paintings, the variety of popculture and "Figuration Libre"-school from France, HipHop-Graffiti and the modern urban art movement as well as by the fantastic creatures of Tim Burton or Studio Ghibli and the thrilling huged-sized collaboration works of artists-couples like Niki Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely or Christo und Jeanne-Claude. We merge our different styles into a mosaic of colors and shapes and always love to integrate the surrounding and special atmosphere in our murals.

URBAN INSTALLATION - "Deep Feet", Objets Trouvés, fabrics, Acrylics; Hamburg

We are celebrating and enjoying the urban surrounding with its variety of amazing surfaces. We love to find unusual places and alter them through spontaneous creative interventions into our "outdoor studio" thereby creating urban collages. We use a multitude of materials like Objet trouvé, discards, rejects, cutouts, feathers, seemingly useless everyday objects which we integrate in our streetwork-mosaic.
