Before the cock crows ...

The sixth piece is the table, perhaps the most inscrutable. Representation that offers a wide interpretation, as rich in meaning, overt and covert. The master is here, in its way, that animal mythology that fits in all of us, and by extension that generates our wildest dreams. The being in question is "Chimera". And heterogeneous mythological creature, described by Homer, with a face of a lion, goat and dragon. Our interest is speculative rather than formal. And to do that and give you an idea of what we're looking for, there is no better definition of what makes a particular Morel in his Dictionary of Symbols: "hybrid monster, Chimera is a symbol of 'unreality and danger of fantasies and illusions. Evoking the imaginary creatures created by the unconscious, the term "chimera" passed into everyday language, designates the imagination as opposed to real. It expresses the danger of taking their dreams to the reality illusion to believe the facility, to escape a reality sometimes difficult to bear. "So, Woodns with his brush and his dreamlike visions assembles its particular creature. Be ambiguous from a woman's face, and men's accessories and felines. The thick black beard that frames the face and a lacy white triangle that protrudes from the chin, the whiskers are white cat that protrude outwards. The trunk is formed from a bird's body, and these seem to form a billowing shawl and the skirt with peacock feathers, gives the character movement. A clumsy gait and graceful at the same time. The gait is awkward due to the horned demon, that the "strange being" bears, as a heavy burden behind incedendo along a path, shown in pink. Proceeding on his journey, stumbles upon a stone face. The hybrid creature, seems to be deliberately indifferent to that encounter, and deliberately turns his gaze toward us charmer, feigning indifference to the carved stone. The stone sculpture is immobile and oriented towards that 'indecipherable hieroglyph before though. A written arcane and difficult to interpret. This tablet should be chronologically placed after the painting "How to sail the sea of life" which survive the battle with the swirling outside world, you start another war, another war, that between the projection of dreams and the new condition is now established of reality. Ready to be betrayed and to betray our own illusions. The deception and betrayal on all aspects is the theme of this poster presentation is highlighted also by titration of the work. Work that having the elements and references contained therein, may well also take the connotation of "Homeric Table". In addition to the main subject, which is a reverie by separating the figure, we realize that the human face and the trunk of a bird, taken together make up another mythological creature that is described by the narrator in The Odyssey "Siren". Precisely dell'accezione first popular woman from the fish body, the sirens were represented as a female bird. Seductive, and dangerous at the same time, represent the embodiment of temptation. But the 'most important element is the very representation of the greek poet, and that is the bearded face of stone, very reminiscent of the "Imaginary Portrait of Homer" Roman play of the second century AD , Preserved in the Louvre in ". It is interesting to understand the etymology of the name Homer: It derives from the greek, and is formed by the words "or mè oron", meaning "He who does not see." In fact, this biography of the bard uncertain, is often considered blind. And the blindness in the ancient world was associated with sacredness, prophecy and wisdom. We then found, like this painting is full of symbols and esoteric content. Allegories in hand, we have examined and disquisito and others left out, such as the accessories of the face of a chimera, the crown, the feathers of peacock plumage, the mysterious writing that appears in the foreground, and even that big boulder figured that his gaze to the sky, located above the head of Homer. The reason for our desertion is deliberate. In "primarily" because the topic is too vast to be dealt with here. You could write a tome on this framework, in the second instance because you want to leave a door open to discussion and interpretative subjectivity. To conclude we can say that the vision of this recording amply shows and cautions, on how easy it is to make blunders, attracted by the illusions and often urged by vanity.
